Grilled Honey and Cinnamon Grapefruit

Grapefruit contain many useful vitamins, for example Eating half of a grapefruit per day will meet 64% of your vitamin C needs, 28% of vitamin A, 2% of calcium and 2% of magnesium (source). All of these vitamins have many possible health benefits, for example on study found that Those who ate high amounts of citrus had a 19 percent lower risk of ischemic stroke. Grapefruit also contain small amounts of potassium which have been associated with a reduced risk of high blood pressure and heart disease.

So why not try A grilled honey and cinnamon grapefruit with some flaked almonds for added protein?

Serves 1

You Will need:
1 grapefruit
2 tsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon (maybe half depending on how much flavour you want, I just love cinnamon)
flaked almonds
Cloves (optional)

Step 1:
In a small bowl combine the honey, cinnamon and cloves.

Step 2:
Cut the grapefruit in half and use a pastry brush to spread the honey mixture on both sides

Step 3:
Put the grill on high and grill for 7-10 minutes until it is starting to brown

Step 4:
Take out the grill and sprinkle with some flaked almonds. I had mine with a mug of green tea.

Super simple, yet super delicious!

Enjoy
